Meet Ashley Brooks

Early Childhood Educator | Play-Based Learning Advocate | Parent & Certified Trainer

I'm Ashley Brooks, an experienced early childhood educator with over 20 years of hands-on teaching in early learning environments. My career spans public and private settings, including 12 years working with Pre-K through 2nd grade students in public schools.

I hold a Master of Arts in Teaching in Early Childhood Education (2007) and earned National Board Certification in Early Childhood in 2009. My work has been featured in the Journal of Research in Childhood Education, and I’m a certified trainer with both the Hanen Center and TECPDS. I’ve also had the honor of presenting at TXAEYC conferences across Texas.

At the heart of my work is a commitment to play-based learning—an approach backed by research and proven to support healthy child development. Through Play to Learn Pre-K, I help educators and families bring joyful, developmentally appropriate practices into their classrooms and homes, even in the face of academic standards and testing pressures.

Whether you're a teacher, administrator, or parent, I’m here to support you with practical tools, professional development, and expert guidance grounded in best practices. Together, we can create early learning experiences where children thrive through play.
